I was born into a family where the old ways were never lost. They were simply kept quietly, at the hearth and the kitchen table, the way they had been kept for generations before us.

My grandmother read the cards for neighbors who came to the back door with their worries. My mother taught me to light a candle with a prayer behind it and to keep the turning of the year: the thin nights of autumn, the long dark of winter, the first green of spring and the bonfires of summer. Our roots run back to Ireland and to Holland, and both of those old inheritances live in the way I practice today.

I gave my first reading as a teenager and have been reading ever since. For more than twenty years I have read tarot, offered intuitive readings and kept candle and prayer work, and for most of those years I have practiced alongside a circle of others who share this path. I still learn something from every person who writes to me.

How I work

Every reading begins with your story. I would rather understand what you are carrying than perform for you, so I ask you to write to me first. I read each message myself, and I answer with what I would suggest and what it involves. If I do not think a reading is what you need, I will tell you so.

Once we have a plan, I tell you what I see and sense as clearly and kindly as I can. I do not dress it up and I do not make it frightening. A reading is meant to leave you feeling clearer and steadier than before, with your choices still in your own hands.

I will never tell you that you are cursed, never ask for money to lift something frightening, and never promise to control another person's heart. Real spiritual work is honest work.

What a reading is, and what it is not

A reading is guidance, reflection and spiritual perspective. It is not a prediction set in stone, and it is not a replacement for a doctor, a lawyer, a financial advisor or a therapist. If something you share tells me you need that kind of help, I will say so and encourage you to reach out to the right person.

I read only for adults, eighteen and older, and I keep every story told to me in confidence.

Why Moonveil Magi

Moonveil is the name our family gave to the hour after moonrise, when the light goes silver and the house goes quiet and it is easiest to listen. Magi is for the old keepers of wisdom who were known for listening to the sky. Between the two is what I hope to offer you: a quiet hour and someone who listens.
